Herdade Vale de Arca is located in Portugal, in a place with the same name, between Alto-Alentejo, Baixo-Alentejo and Coastal Alentejo. Three different and beautiful landscapes.

It enjoys a privileged geographic location, since it lays in the the convergence point of many of the most remarkable cities from the Alentejo Region, only about half an hour away:

Alcácer do Sal, Montemor-o-Novo, Évora, Beja, Alvito, Viana do Alentejo, Ferreira do Alentejo and Grândola.  About 30 to 40 minutes away from the beach: Praia do Carvalhal, Brejos da Carregueira and Comporta.

Lisbon’s international Airport is a an hour’s drive away (120 km) and Beja’s Airport only a brief 30 minutes away.

Driving south, you will be on the Algarve, Portugal’s South coast in 1 hour and a half.

Inside the Herdade is a small vila where in the past existed a school, a cafe, a grocery shop and 26 little houses. In the past the Vila had  about 100 inhabitants .

At this moment, we’ve already started transforming and adapting the villa in order offer a perfect Portuguese destination for Rural Tourists and the Olive Oil Culture passionates.

The Herdade (sort of Hacienda)  is an exclusive estate with wildlife and plenty of fishing where we produce, besides Farm Extra Virgin Olive Oil, cork, cheese and we raise cows, goats, sheep and horses. We also produce charcoal, wood and olive stone for fireplaces  and wood-stoves, besides canned gourmet preserved olives.

We want to make sure our guests will enjoy themselves and carry with them memorable activties, like horse riding, jet-ski, water-ski, hunting and fishing.

We are extremely environmental-conscious and we address with great determination issues like the right balance between the species and we are very proud to have not cut down a single Cork Tree.

Today, we are already self-sufficient in the production of electrical and thermic power that we consume, thanks to investment in solar power energy.
